Lesson 1
Lesson Goal: The children will learn that we can only experience the life God has planned for us if we are obedient to Him. We should follow and obey God even when we aren’t sure what the outcome will be.
Bible Story: The call of Abram.
Main Point: I Will Follow God!
Bible Verse: “Be careful to obey all these commands I am giving you. Show love to the Lord your God by walking in his ways and holding tightly to him.” (Deuteronomy 11:22 NLT)
Lesson 2
Lesson Goal: The children will learn that we should always tell the truth. We should tell the truth because things will ultimately turn out better for us and because God commands us.
Bible Story: Abram and Sarai in Egypt.(Genesis 12:10-20)
Main Point: I Will Tell The Truth!
Bible Verse: “Don’t lie to each other,” (Colossians 3:9a NLT)
Lesson 3
Lesson Goal: The children will learn that we should put others first by showing them kindness, letting them have what is best, and by putting their needs above our own.
Bible Story: Abram and Lot separate.(Genesis 13)
Main Point: I Will Put Others First!
Bible Verse: “Don’t be concerned for your own good but for the good of others.” (1 Corinthians 10:24 NLT)
Lesson 4
Lesson Goal: The children will learn that when we see someone in need, we should do what we can to help meet that need.
Bible Story: Abram rescues Lot (Genesis 14:1-16)
Main Point: I Will Help Others In Need!
Bible Verse: “When God’s people are in need, be ready to help them. Always be eager to practice hospitality.” (Romans 12:13 NLT)
Lesson 5
Lesson Goal: The children will learn that everything we have comes from God, and we should give back to God the first ten percent of whatever we earn.
Bible Story: Abram gives a tithe. (Genesis 14:17-24)
Main Point: I Will Give Back To God!
Bible Verse: “Everything we have has come from you, and we give you only what you first gave us.” (1 Chronicles 29:14b NLT)
Lesson 6
Lesson Goal: The children will learn that we can trust God and believe all of His many promises to us in scripture.
Bible Story: A son is promised to Abraham and Sarah. (Genesis 18:1-15)
Main Point: I Will Believe God’s Promises!
Bible Verse: “Abraham never wavered in believing God’s promise. In fact, his faith grew stronger, and in this he brought glory to God.” (Romans 4:20 NLT)
Lesson 7
Lesson Goal: The children will learn that we should take time to pray and ask God to help other people.
Bible Story: Abraham interceded for Sodom. (Genesis 18:20-33)
Main Point: I Will Pray For Others!
Bible Verse: I urge you, first of all, to pray for all people. Ask God to help them; intercede on their behalf, and give thanks for them.” 1 Timothy 2:1 NLT)
Lesson 8
Lesson Goal: The children will learn that God offers us salvation through His Son, Jesus, allowing us to become friends with God.
Bible Story: Recap of the Life of Abraham. (Genesis 12 -19)
Main Point: I Can Be Friends With God!
Bible Verse: “So all who put their faith in Christ share the same blessing Abraham received because of his faith.” (Galatians 3:9 NLT)
