Lesson 2
Lesson Goal: The children will learn that they should be faithful and do what they say they will do.
Bible Story: David fights Goliath. (1 Samuel 17)
Main Point: Faithfulness: I Will Do What I Say I Will Do!
Bible Verse: “I have chosen to be faithful; I have determined to live by your regulations.” (Psalm 119:30 NLT)
Lesson 3
Lesson Goal: The children will learn that we should think of what God wants us to do before we act.
Bible Story: David spares Saul’s life. (1 Samuel 26)
Main Point: Self-control: I Will Think Of What God Wants Me To Do Before I Act!
Bible Verse: “A person without self-control is like a city with broken down walls.” (Proverbs 25:28 NLT)
Lesson 4
Lesson Goal: The children will learn that patience means waiting without complaining.
Bible Story: David patiently waits for his son to build the Temple. (1 Chronicles 22)
Main Point: Patience: I Will Wait Without Complaint!
Bible Verse: “Rejoice in our confident hope. Be patient in trouble, and keep on praying.” (Romans 12:12 NLT)
Lesson 5
Lesson Goal: The children will learn that joy is based on God’s love for us, not our circumstances.
Bible Story: The Ark of God is returned to Jerusalem and David celebrates. (2 Samuel 6)
Main Point: Joy: I Will Be Joyful Because God Loves Me!

Lesson 6
Lesson Goal: The children will learn that God wants us to be kind and gentle with each other.
Bible Story: David shows kindness to Mephibosheth. (2 Samuel 9)
Main Point: Kindness and Gentleness: I Will Treat Others The Way God Would Want Me to Treat Them!
Bible Verse: “Your love has given me much joy and comfort, my brother, for your kindness has often refreshed the hearts of God’s people.” (Philemon 1:7 NLT)
Lesson 7
Lesson Goal: The children will learn that we can have peace if we trust in God when times are hard.
Bible Story: David writes songs of peace. (Psalms 3; 23)
Main Point: Peace: I Trust God in Difficult Times!
Bible Verse: “I am leaving you with a gift – peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.” (John 14:27 NLT)
Lesson 8
Lesson Goal: The children will learn that love is shown by the things we choose to do.
Bible Story: Jesus showed His love for us when He died for us on the cross. (Luke 23; 24)
Main Point: Love: We Show Love By Our Actions!
Bible Verse: “But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.” (Romans 5:8 NLT)
