20 Feb Altitude Series Tips
Altitude is mountain climbing series set in the great outdoors.
It teaches Elevate Kids from the Beatitudes, and teaches Elevate Jr. from the Bible stories that occured on the mountains. This series is in our ‘standard Elevate series format’, meaning both the skits and Bible Lessons in Elevate Kids can be performed live, and Elevate Jr. is the same consistent format for Large Group or Classroom settings.
Altitude Jr. Highlights:
Altitude Jr. has no changes from the typical Elevate Jr. layout: it has a Drop-Off Time Activity, Opening Classroom Activity, Offering Activity, Main Point Activity and Pick-Up Time Activity in addition to the regular videos and songs. A few things are new though: During the Bible Lesson review, we decided to add the questions AND the answers to the screen so remember to hit “play” to see the answer. A new thing for Altitude Jr. in the skit, is the main characters collect a “Learning Flag” each week to remind them what they learned. In this series the kids learn a new Bible Verse each week. And if you’re looking for a race or two, be sure to check out the “Extras” Menu on your DVD.
Altitude Kids Highlights:
The one unique thing about Altitude Kids is it is topical to one passage of scripture over the full eight weeks. The entire series is about the Beatitudes in Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount (Matthew 5:1-12), so to keep the normal ‘Bible Lesson’ format, we broke this Bible passage up and found other Bible stories that teach the same thing. For example: Lesson 1 is the first Beatitude from Matthew 5:3, and the Bible Lesson that supports it is Nicodemus Speaks with Jesus (John 3 & John 19:38-42). This is similar to the way we did Bible Stories in the series’ To The Depths Kids and Berry Blast Theme Park Kids.
The perform it live portion of Alititude Kids requires two actors on stage interacting with the video and a possible third to tell the Bible Lesson live.
We look forward to seeing any stage pictures or series pictures from your children’s ministry! Feel free to post them on our Facebook wall so others can see how you use Altitude! Or, check out our Pinterest page for decorating ideas.
